1.
WHO I AM

I’m a multi-hyphenate creative director, strategist, craftsman, and traveler. I work with global enterprises and startups to build better brand experiences in the space where strategy, experiences, and design intersect with communication and emotion.

2.
WHAT I DO

Early in my career, I authored the global visual and brand design standards for Intel including multiple “Intel Inside” processor brands, which became ‘the’ case study for worldwide ingredient branding. I’ve done identity design for Cargill, American Heart, and Motorola. Packaging for Seagrams, The Clorox Company, and PepsiCo. Strategy and branding for The Venetian & Palazzo Las Vegas and The Guggenheim Museum. Exhibit design for Audible, Cisco, and SGI/Silicon Graphics. Creative development for The Walt Disney Co. and George Lucas. Experience design for Westfield Centres and Ghirardelli Square San Francisco to name just a few.

My work is always grounded in deep strategic research and thinking, followed by meticulous, customer-centric application and activation.

I’ve been lucky to have been asked to help several pro bono organizations, notably in the children’s education and food insecurity spaces. Some of these non-profits include Junior Achievement, The Gladstone Institute UCSF, The San Francisco Food Bank, and Yosemite National Institutes/NatureBridge.

I’ve worked for design studios and national advertising agencies like Hill Holliday, where I was SVP of Design, consulting firms like IDEO and Prophet, as well as numerous Fortune 100 clients directly.

Now most of my time is devoted to developing a new “active lifestyle, five-star casual” cruise brand as part of a diverse team of amazing collaborators with expertise in business, strategy, finance, hospitality, wellness, sport, interior design, architecture, luxury travel, marketing and PR.

RECOGNITION

Along the way, my work has been recognized with the Adweek Icon Award, The Clio Awards, CA Communication Arts, The Mobius Awards, The Maggies, The Art Directors Club of New York, and many others.

4.
DETAILS

I’m insatiably curious and more than a little obsessed with technology, photography, travel, food, and art. I spend way too much time feeding my curiosity on YouTube. Creative inspiration comes in the form of Deiter Rams, Norman Foster, Bjarke Ingels, Andreas Gursky, Ed Ruscha, and Jenny Holzer.

I graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, and have taught at The Academy of Art College in San Francisco, CA.
